The Seashell  5stars.jpg

Luxurious, intimate and quite simply unique.....The Seashell is the ultimate in 5 star self catering. Inspired by the unfolding spiral of a shell, this hand crafted round house of timber, stone and glass perches above the sea. The gently sloping turf roof makes it almost invisible from the Ardnamurchan hills behind.

The entrance hall leads to the kitchen and on around a massive chimney with open fire into the living area and bed beyond. At the farthest point in the curve is the wet room with rain shower, a separate toilet and an elevated double spa bath. There are very few partition walls simply space and light. We hand built the few doors that there are to maintain the curved shape. At the back of the house there is a utility room and a second wet room and toilet.

Underfloor heating, powered by an air source heat pump, ensures comfort and warmth throughout. Solar panels heat the water. The Seashell has a 3D TV, Broadband and Digital radio.

A massive arc of windows provides a stunning panoramic view of the saltmarsh and tidal island at Glenmore with Loch Sunart beyond. Your only neighbours are our Highland cattle and ponies and the odd eagle soaring overhead.

The Seashell sleeps 2 in a completely open plan living/sleeping space designed for couples. Glenmore is ideally situated for exploring Ardnamurchan. Hill walking, bird watching, boat hire and the ferry to Mull are all within easy reach.

We regret that we cannot accept dogs but they are welcome in our other houses.
