Luxury 5 star self catering on the shores of a Highland sea loch. The secluded coastal location amidst a backdrop of stunning scenery makes Otter Lodge quite simply unique.
A substantial Norwegian log house set within its own 10 acre garden, Otter Lodge is a rare gem combining contemporary comfort and character with world class wildlife. The Glenmore River runs through the garden connecting three wildlife ponds popular with trout, herons and otters. Pine martens are regular visitors. A gate at the bottom of the garden leads directly on to the shore. The large conservatory faces south and has stunning views of Loch Sunart, Ardnamurchan and the Morvern Hills.
The lodge sleeps 6 in two double bedrooms and one twin room. The master bedroom has a king size pine bed with Egyptian cotton sheets. The en-suite bathroom has a spa bath for two and a shower. The windows are low enough to enable you to enjoy the view from the bath. This truly is a loo with a view!
There is a second bathroom which also has a spa bath and shower. Both bathrooms have under-floor heating.
The sitting room is heated by a log fire hand crafted from river boulders above which hangs a locally made antler chandelier. Otter Lodge has Broadband for those who like to combine technology with tranquility.
Meals can be enjoyed in the conservatory or at the picnic table with its stone built barbecue. In the Spring, the garden is a mass of daffodils and azaleas. Later in the year, you can enjoy feasting on cherries, plums and apples while listening to the stags roaring on the surrounding hills.
This “tree house for grown ups” is a great choice for a family holiday and perfect for a romantic break for two. The RSPB reserve at Glenborrodale is within easy walking distance and fishing, hill walking and boat hire are all on the doorstep.
“Otter Lodge was simply perfect in every way – we had four otter sightings during the week, Sanna Bay took me back to childhood holidays and the dog loved it!”
“Otter Lodge far exceeded our expectations and is a truly wonderful holiday home.”
“The wet and miserable start to our week was a golden opportunity for a log fire. We just don’t want to go home.”
